ep-ic \'e-pik\ adj.

So, I have been lying around today, procrastinating going to the gym, when I started arguing with myself. Now, don't get me wrong, that's pretty common. I argue with myself all the time. The weird part was what I said to myself. I said "Dammnit Nick, go do your workout now or I'll climb inside your stomach and lay eggs!"

Well it's that time of year again, Brian Smith is getting a little older and every year he has some crazy adventure on his birthday. This year he is turning the big 3-0 which makes it, "Brian Smith's Epic Birthday Ride".

Webster defines epic as, "extending beyond the usual or ordinary, heroic", which pretty much sums up B-man altogether. The date is November 19th, the plan is to bust out the White Rim Trail in Moab, UT in one unsupported effort. This means carrying all the water and gear you will need for a 110 mile mtb adventure into the backcountry.

The group being assembled to join our aging friend parallels the definition of epic. So far we have about 10 current NORBA pros and a couple legends of the sport including Dave Weins. ( Sager.... you should take off your snow pants and come join us) I will be documenting the entire ride (should be about 10 hrs) and making everyone say "cheese" at least a dozen times. And if you have the weekend free and want to join us... Drop me email.

So the interest in this ride has blown me away... could be the making of one of the greatest group rides to date. Btw Old farts like Dave Harris are more then welcome.... considering he has done more 100+ mtb rides than most of us combined. Bring it....
