Changes in Latitude

Today I said my farewells to the chilly tundra of Colorado, tomorrow morning I will be flying south to Florida for Mom's annual 3 week holiday training camp. To be honest, I am pretty excited to trade in the double booties for some tanning lotion. From here on out I am fully committed to the cultivation my tan lines.

What the....!!!

On a side note, I got a note from my bro Mike "Army of One" Wilk down in D-Town in regards to some recent misfortune. I guess while he was out on some local dirt, a rock kicked this roadie sideways and Wilk came away with a broken knee. Back in the day, Wilk was one of the guys that really showed me what it meant to step it up on the bike. He never showed fear out there on the trails and was pretty much pinning it all the time... Brings back some good memories. I wish you my best bro!

Speaking of D-Town, there has been a lot squawk lately on "raceclean" about the whole Durango crew. I just want to make it clear that I stand for the message of the site (keeping the sport clean) but NOT the accusations. I don't know where the site gets their fuel for their fires but I believe in athletes until they are proven otherwise. With that being said, congratulations to the Wells brothers....

Yo, Nicky!!
what's up?? I've really been enjoying your blog! So much so that I mentioned it in my own blog (which is totally boring compared to yours), so you might get some more readers. ;-)
Have a killer time in Florida! I hope you keep updating the blog from there.
cheers,
Marty

That dudes has problems. His goal is right, his message is wrong. Pointing fingers and claiming people are confiremd dopers or absolute dopers without at least linking a source is a waste of time and likely illegal. I read the post where he is asking if Shonny is clean and states that he will wait for people to e-mail in and let him know. That is a good way to accuse poeple. Hey random people out there, tell if this person you know nothing about is clean or not and I will post it on my site. I don't know anything about coach Crawford or any of the other coaches he mentions on there but I am pretty sure Floyd Landis would not be happy to read that text nor would Todd or Shonny. I guess some people don't worry about tarnishing others rep's.

I wish I was gong to train for a few weeks in a warm climate. Have fun down there. I am sure it will be all work and no beach time!

Raceclean seems to be getting out of hand with those accusations. Is it more fun to post accusations than it is to post about clean wins?

Anyway Nick, Keep on keepin on.

The raceclean bunch need to either show definitive proof of doping, or shut up. I certainly don't know Todd Wells, but he seems like a stand-up guy...not the type to dope. They're doing such a disservice by making unsubstantiated claims. Don't they realize that they are potentially hurting these racer's careers?

Jerks.
