Live Updates from Eatough's 24 Hr World Campaign

So the Webcam is not working up in Canada Eh, so Jon Posner will be calling in live to leave Audio Updates through the night and into the morning (on this site) to keep you up to date on Chris's progress on becoming a 6 time 24 Hr Solo World Champion. (Crazy!)

More updates on the race in progress are available at the 24 hrs of Adrendalin site!

(NOON) It looks like the Phat lady has sung! A huge Congrats to Chris for pulling off his 6th World 24 Hr Solo Championship. Following 28 minutes behind was Ernesto Marechin (sp??) who pulled off a huge day to finish 2nd. And shortly after in 3rd, Subaru Gary Fisher Endurance Pro Nat Ross (Who has completed more solo 24 efforts than anyone in the WORLD!). Congrats to everyone out there!

A couple months ago at the US National Solo Championships Chris showed he was human by having to pull out due to illness. Eatough appoligized sincerely to his crew and said "This won't happen at Whister!"... EVERYONE believed him and knew he would pull it off again! If you have ever crossed paths with Chris you know that he is one of the nicest and most professional cats out there! Congrats to Chris and the rest of his all-star crew: Steve Borkowski, Allison Eatough, Mike Eatough and Jon "Poz" Posner. After Chris wakes up from his beauty sleep maybe I can talk him into calling in for an update....

(9:23 am) He was all amped up as things are getting hectic and it is turning into quite a race! Ernie, the 2nd place rider for speedgoat, put in an early morning attack to bring the gap to only 24 minutes. Chris then was forced to respsond with another hot lap which brought it back to 34 minutes... things are heating up and there is only 2.5 hrs of racing left!

(3:10 am) Chris is still leading with Ernie in 2nd @ 30 minutes back. Nat Ross is in 3rd @ 42 minutes. The rain has finally stopped but the temperatures are dropping. Chris's lap times are consistent at 1 hr 11 minutes per lap. Stay tuned!

(6:30 pm) Chris is in the lead by about 14 minutes. Second place is an American named Ernie Marechin (sp??) Third is Subaru/Fisher rider Nat Ross at about 18 minutes, fourth is European 24 solo champ Austrian Thomas H. at about 25 minutes back. Conditions have been awful with nearly nonstop steady rain the whole day so far. It is just now clearing up

10:30 AM Eastern (Ellicott City, Maryland, USA)
I just spoke with Bork (Chris' mechaninc) and the race is just coming out of the night laps with Chris up by 28 minutes over Ernesto Marenchin. "It's a race" said Bork while grabbing some chow and dry clothes before heading back to the pits. Chris is in good spirits and was putting on his "go! face" when heading out for his most recent lap.
